South African police open investigation into opposition leader Malema

South African police say they are investigating opposition leader Julius Malema for "reckless and inflammatory" speech, reports the Reuters news agency.He told Al Jazeera news that the opposition "will run out of patience very soon and we will remove this government through the barrel of a gun" if the ruling African National Congress continues to respond violently to peaceful protests.

South Sudan's Riek Machar is expected to be sworn in shortly as the country's first vice-president in a new unity government.The Humanitarian agencies are using the opportunities to urge the country to remember the people who have suffered in the more than two years of civil war.Oxfam has released a statement:The country’s leaders must now demonstrate their commitment to the deal and work urgently to end needless suffering for millions of South Sudanese facing a dire humanitarian crisis.Across the country, at least 2.8 million people are struggling to get enough food and 2.3 million have been forced from their homes.The people of South Sudan deserve unimpeded access to humanitarian services."
